The Charles Causley Trust have announced that Cahal Dallat, their current Writer-in-Residence at Cyprus Well has won the much coveted Keats-Shelley Prize for 2017.
The winners were announced by the Prize Chair, Baroness Floella Benjamin, at the Royal Society of Antiquaries on 24th April. Cahal’s poem Giant took first place in the poetry category, fighting off strong competition from a shortlist of talented poets. Cahal received a prize of £1000. We think this accolade is is a great way to kick off his residency and look forward to hearing more about his work in the near future.
Cahal’s latest collection of poetry is entitled The Year of Not Dancing published by Blackstaff Press.
