The next Penzance Poetry Parlour is on Weds 13 Sept and features Penelope Shuttle and Greta Stoddart.
Doors open at 7.30 and the readings start at 8 pm, followed by an informal Q & A. There will be cava and popcorn. Penzance Poetry Parlour is hosted by Katrina Naomi.
Entry is by a minimum donation of £5 (if you can afford more then the poets will be paid more). Both Greta and Penny will have their books for sale on the night.
Please arrive early as seats are limited, and Penzance Poetry Parlour is popular.
Penelope Shuttle lives in Cornwall. Will You Walk A Little Faster? was published by Bloodaxe Books in May 2017. Her recent books are Heath, with John Greening, (from Nine Arches Press) and a pamphlet, Four Portions of Everything on the Menu for M’sieur Monet! (from Indigo Dreams Publications).
Greta Stoddart was born in Oxfordshire. Her first collection At Home in the Dark (Anvil) was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best First Collection and won the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize in 2002. Her second book, Salvation Jane (Anvil), was shortlisted for the Costa Book Award 2008. She was also shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best Individual Poem in 2012. Her third book, Alive Alive O (Bloodaxe, 2015), was shortlisted for the Roehampton Poetry Prize 2016. Her latest work, a radio poem called ‘Who’s there?’ was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 2017. She lives in Devon and teaches for the Poetry School and the Arvon Foundation.
