Last year, Literature Works were pleased to support the writing residency of Jamie Edgcombe within the English and Creative Writing department of Plymouth University and we’re delighted that the residency has been extended this autumn.
Across his residency, Jamie worked with staff and students of the English and Creative Writing department delivering a range of writing workshops, a ‘Plymouth noir’ inspiration walk and a range of readings and talks all with aim of engaging the writing voices of the future to explore new modes and forms of writing. In addition Jamie wrote specially commissioned blog posts for Literature Works on a sense of place in writing (a topic we here at Literature Works love) and on exploring genre through his inspiration walk. You can read the posts here. As the first period of his residency drew to a close, Jamie also helped us celebrate National Writing Day with a short story workshop.
Now, at the beginning of the second phase of his residency, Jamie is holding a Gothic fiction workshop for students of Plymouth University on Thursday 12th October between 1 – 3 pm in Babbage Building 007. We hope to see you there.
Look out for updates on Jamie’s residency as it progresses throughout the autumn.
