“Do You Like Creative Writing? Would you like to find out more about writing for page and performance, taking inspiration from select Mayflower shows, working with a professional writer and visiting guests? Would you like to see your work published online, in print, and performed on a stage before a live audience?
ArtfulScribe and Mayflower Theatre are inviting young people to get involved with an exciting creative project that will help develop skills, confidence, and experience of a writer’s life. Sessions take place on a weekly basis, on Saturday mornings between 11am and 1pm during term-times.
Participants will explore creative writing through workshops on topics like characterisation, dialogue, setting, and plot, as well as through practical exercises involving interviews with cast and crew and reviews of performances. Writers will work across genres including non-fiction, fiction, poetry and script-writing.
All workshops will offer a safe, supportive environment, encouraging young writers to share work and to give and receive feedback in a respectful way that empowers voices in the workshop community. It’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded people and it’s a lot of fun; a highlight of the week for those taking part.
These sessions are free but we are looking for commitment. Places are limited, Please register your interest by calling Mayflower Box Office on 02380 711811. All workshops are suitable for beginners and advanced writers. If you’d like any more information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you at Mayflower Theatre!
