The story will be an exclusive new work by one of the south-west’s most innovative writers, Jessica Greengrass, from the Guillemot Factory series of illustrated pamphlets, published in June, in partnership between the Word Factory and Cornwall-based Guillemot Press.

About Cathy and Emma:

Cathy Galvin’s work has appeared in many national and international journals including the Financial Times, Telegraph, Newsweek, Mslexia and Irish Times.
As deputy editor of the Sunday Times Magazineshe co-founded the Sunday Times EFG short story award and later founded and is director of the Word Factory.

Emma Timpany grew up in Dunedin, in the far south of New Zealand, and now lives in Cornwall. Her first short story collection, The Lost of Syroswas published in 2015.
Her short stories have won three awards, including the Society of Authors’ Tom-Gallon Trust Award.
She is co-editor of Cornish Short Stories: A Collection of Contemporary Cornish Writing.
Her second short story collection, Three Roads, and a novella, Travelling in the Dark, will be published in 2018.
