"All schools should develop policies to promote reading for enjoyment throughout school"- Ofsted, Moving English Forward, 2012
When? 9th October 2017
Where? Plympton, Plymouth
This course is for teachers of Key Stages two and three. As expressed by OFSTED and shown in the National Literacy Trust’s research, reading for pleasure is an important aspect of literacy and can impact on attainment in other areas too.
Developing strategies such as teaching whole texts, participants on this course collaborate, share expertise and engage with research.
Spanning Key Stages 2 and 3 it is also a great opportunity to improve cross-phase communication and address issues around transition.
This is a one and a half day CPD course for literacy leaders and Key Stage 2 and 3 teachers.
The course includes a twilight follow-up session on 7 February 2018 from 15.30 to 17.30.
