Maria Donovan writes fiction and non-fiction, including ‘Tea for Mr Dead’ (flash fiction); ‘Pumping Up Napoleon’ (short stories) and her debut novel, ‘The Chicken Soup Murder’. Maria’s flash fiction ‘Chess’ won the Dorset Award in the Bridport Prize. The Chicken Soup Murder was a finalist in the Dundee International Book Prize and was published in September 2017 by Seren. www.serenbooks.com.
For nine years a lecturer in creative writing at the University of Glamorgan, Maria sometimes does one-off workshops, readings and talks and is otherwise writing full time. She has lived in Holland, France and Wales and is now back in West Dorset, where she was born.
