About the Author

Linda is a poet – writer – performer, originally from UK with a theatre background and Diploma in LAMDA Speech and Drama, a Diploma in Recreational Studies from Manchester Metropolitan (specialisation Creative Writing) and a HND in Theatre Studies. Her work as a writer can be found here and she has also been published by John G Hall in Citizen 32 and George Wallace in Poetry Bay.

She has produced a lot of live and recorded work with musicians  and with film makers on various poetry films – many which have been in international poetry festivals over the years – this latest one, ‘Kill Your Darlings’, was part of Berlin Zebra Poetry Film Festival 2014. She has also created installations using text/audio and image exhibited in several prominent galleries. She was Editor in Chief at Rowayat  and ran a small arts residency in Cairo.

She has initiated and led many literary events including open mics, writers’ salons and more and has been delivering workshops in creative writing, theatre and related arts since 1991; working in UK, Holland, Czech Republic, Australia and Egypt – lastly providing courses at Diwan, Egypt and now at Morrab Library in Penzance.

She is director of the Free Writers Centre  offering live and online Creative Writing courses, events and much more. Her older blogsite is The Writers’ Centre.

She is also Literary Arts Coordinator for the Hypatia Trust  She worked from 1999 to 2009 in Adult Education in UK providing literacy support (as well as literary courses) to a wide variety of groups and students including vulnerable adults/asylum seekers and refugees/people on probation/dyslexics and general population and is currently beginning new employment with Adult Education service.
