Claire is a prize-winning poet who was born in Edinburgh and now lives in the South West of England, on the Welsh border.
She specialises in nurturing creative writing, both as craft and for wellbeing. Claire has had four poetry books published and also writes prose and performance-based work. Her poem ‘Rough’ was highly commended for the Bridport Prize in 2017 and she won an Arts Council award for her poetry collection ‘Ride On’.
When she isn’t writing poetry, Claire regularly facilitates workshops for both adults and children and is Programme Leader for the MSc Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes at the Metanoia Institute. She has worked with organisations such as the Poetry Slam, Poetry Can, Poetry Society, Bristol Poetry Festival and UWE and gives regular readings across the country. She is available for workshops, readings and hosting.
