Access to our Website is permitted on a temporary basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw or amend the service we provide on our Website without notice (see below). We will not be liable if for any reason our Website is unavailable at any time or for any period. While we endeavour to ensure that this Website is normally available 24 hours a day, we cannot promise that our Website will be free from errors or omissions nor that it will be available uninterrupted and in a fully operating condition. ELIGIBILITY FOR JOINING SOUTH WEST WRITERS LISTING
All forms submitted to our site for inclusion in our South West Writer listing on http://literatureworks.org.uk/southwestwriters/ are reviewed according to the following criteria, and Literature Works reserves the right not to include a writer in our online listing.
Criteria for inclusion as a published writer
- You must live and work in the South West of England. If you live in South West England for part of the year, please outline your availability in your application.
- You must be a practising, published creative writer of fiction, poetry, literary narrative non-fiction
- The definition of literary non-fiction includes biography, literary criticism, travel writing (not guidebooks), memoir, autobiography and historical non-fiction.
- We also accept entries from performance poetry and spoken word artists, storytellers and playwrights, and graphic novelists..
- Writers should have at least one published book that has been published, marketed and sold to a reputable standard (e.g. made widely available in South West bookshops) within the last ten years.
- Writers who have six separate publications in a range of established literary magazines, journals or anthologies are eligible. These periodicals must be published regularly (monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly), produced to a professional standard, in circulation for at least 12 months, have an ISBN or ISSN number, distributed in the UK, not self-published. Online publishing is not included.
Criteria for inclusion as a playwright, performance poet, spoken word artist or storyteller
- Playwrights should have had at least one professional production of their work performed within the last ten years.
- Performance poets and spoken word artists who can demonstrate a regular record of professional performance over a period of at least two years are eligible.
- Traditional or contemporary storytellers who can demonstrate a regular record of professional performance over a period of at least two years are eligible.
