An introduction to Japanese Gothic fiction with Literature Works/ Plymouth University writer-in-residence Jamie Edgecombe
Do you know the difference between your yurei and your yokai?
While Japanese Gothic fiction bears many similarities with the western tradition, it also includes some interesting differences. The Thursday 12th workshop, open to any student with an interest in Gothic fiction, or Japanese writing, or who just wants to experience a literature from a different culture, will provide an overview of some of these key differences and how they have been woven into some exemplary tales. The session is two hours long and will include not only an introduction, but also the chance to experiment with some of the ideas presented.
This is a free event, open to all students of Plymouth University.
