Cafe Workshops: Eco-poetics

What does a starfish ponder as it muses through the sea? How does a tree experience people walking through woodland? Who is moss and how do they feel?

In this session of our Cafe Workshops, we’ll be getting into the minds of the more-than-human world in order to create works of writing – poetry, non-fiction and fiction. Guided by gentle prompts, we’ll explore the world through the lens of bugs, plants and sea creatures (and more!) and use a range of writing techniques to develop short pieces for you to take away and use as inspiration for your work. Open to artists, researchers, poets – or anyone with an interest in the natural world – this is an opportunity to get playful and think differently. There’ll also be a break for tea, coffee and delicious cakes, available from behind the bar!

What to bring:

– Pen and paper if you have a pen/notebook you particularly like to use – standard A4 paper and pencils will be provided!

– Your imagination!
