Cheltenham Poetry Festival  are delighted to launch their summer season of on-line activities with a very special event.

They are thrilled to have Fiona Sampson, one of our greatest living poets, read.

They are delighted to have Fiona join us for a reading from her acclaimed new collection Come Down. The collection keeps in sight, always, the human experience: the act of creation; the way in which childhood memory and family lore impinge on the present.

The poems in this book have received two major European prizes, the 2019 Naim Frashëri Laureateship of Albania and Macedonia, and the 2020 European Lyric Atlas Prize, Bosnia.

Praise for Come Down
‘Sensual, sharply intelligent, searching; these poems live on their own terms, in their own appointed ground . . . deeply musical, intellectually engaged and, most importantly, in love, not only with language, but also with the world we seek day by day.’ John Burnside.
