Hatching a novel? Toying with some short story ideas? Feeling the urge to write some fiction but not sure where or how to begin? Then this workshop is for you.
Join experienced writing mentor and coach Katri Skala for a half-day workshop, suitable for anyone who has a desire to write fiction or who is already writing it and would like to make progress.
In the course of the workshop, you’ll discuss how characters are created, and how point of view is achieved. You’ll look at a short story with the aim of understanding how it works, and then get a piece of fiction of your own underway. You’ll also discuss your work and that of others, learning to appreciate the value of supportive feedback in the process.
Katri Skala is a mentor and coach of writers. Previously a senior arts administrator and editor in the UK and US, she has also worked for the Arvon Foundation, the Writers’ Centre in Norwich and the University of East Anglia. Her novel, “A Perfect Mother” was published by Hikari Press in 2018. She moved to Stroud the same year and now wonders why she ever lived anywhere else.
