At the end of April WonderZoo are teaming up with Imperfect Cinema, Fotonow, POP+ and Soapbox Culture to create a four day Pilot Event for a Future Festival called Storytelling. The event will be called ‘Lost Time’.

 

29th April, 7 – 10 pm: On the Roadmap – Wonderzoo online performance event

An exciting hybrid live/online event with a fabulous range of poets, writers and music.
All compered by Chi Bennett.
​Featuring:
​Clare Peartree – talented professional writer, translator and bard from Cheshire
​Keira J. Delerue – this talented writer and singer will be joining us from Cornwall
​Gabi Marcellus-Temple – a writer, translator and artist based in Plymouth/Cornwall
​Chi Bennett – Chi will compere and will be sharing some of her amazing writing and music
​Matt Thomas – Plymouth-based poet with a wonderfully dry, laconic observational style
​Brian Herdman – astounding poet known for his searing invective and affecting work
​Slain McGough Davey – infamous spoken word artist with an immersive performance style
The headliner will be the outstanding electronica/spoken word duo Oddstep Deployment Unit, from Plymouth.

30th April, 11 am – 9 pm Fotonow Storytelling Workshop

Enabling people’s voices to be heard
11am-12pm: Morning Workshop with Fotonow
6-8pm: Evening event of sharing work and discussion.
A one-day opportunity for you to capture images of where you’re living and create a story through pictures! You are encouraged to explore your own streets and landscapes, or shoot whatever takes your fancy.
This morning workshop and evening event will feed into the rest of the events happening around Film and Spoken Word and will be used for the 2nd pilot event, where the creative works will feed into a live Vjing (realtime visual) performance.

The morning event take place on Zoom and the Evening Event be Zoom and Facebook live.


1st May, 11 am – 9 pm Imperfect Cinema 

Enabling people’s voices to be heard
11am-12pm: Morning Workshop
7-9pm: Evening event of sharing work and discussion.
A one-day opportunity for you to create short films or clips and create a story through the power and magic of the moving image, we encourage you to explore your own streets and landscapes, or shoot whatever takes your fancy from documentary, action, adventure or even music it’s really up to you.
Join in with the evening event and showcase what you did in that short time frame and be part of Plymouth’s underground film community!
This morning workshop and evening event will feed into the rest of the events happening around Film and Spoken Word and will be used for our 2nd pilot event, where the creative works will feed into a live Vjing (realtime visual) performance.

2nd May, 12 – 2 pm Wonderzoo Writing Workshop 

Written storytelling workshop
Enabling people’s voices to be heard
12pm -2pm: with WonderZoo
An event for sharing and making work, discussion and going out to make new work
A one-day opportunity for you to write poetry, flash fiction, short stories, comedy – if you can put it into words then you have till the evening, when we will join Soapbox Culture for an online open mic and you can perform it live.
This midday workshop will feed into the evening event and the rest of the events happening around film and spoken word as part of the ‘Lost Time’ weekend.

2nd May,  7 – 10 pm Soapbox Culture Open Mic Night

Enabling people’s voices to be heard
Off to a shaky start or brimming with optimism? Come and share your words, poetry, flash fiction, short stories and comedy. If you can put it into words, you can perform it.
Fun, free and friendly open- mic space for all and any to say their piece on the soapbox!
