Gareth will read from his work, discuss genre and answer questions at this month’s Novel Nights.

GARETH L. POWELL is an award-winning science fiction and fantasy author from Bristol. His third novel, Ack-Ack Macaque, tied with Ann Leckie’s Ancillary Justice to co-win the 2013 BSFA Award for Best Novel. His books have been published in the UK, Germany, the USA and Japan.

Known for his strong characters and acutely-observed dialogue, his exploration of our relationship with technology in a vast and uncaring universe, and the question of what it is that makes us human in the first place, it is perhaps unsurprising that critics have likened Gareth’s work to the writings of William Gibson, Philip K. Dick, and J.G. Ballard.

He will be joined by sci-fi writers in the first half reading extracts from their stories.
