Hook Up, Line Up, Speak Up –

Here comes our next Speakeasy session.

Share your work, meet other writers, discover new talent.

Are you a storyteller, poet, fiction writer, comic or perhaps a musician? Well, this is where we want you! Come and experience some of Cornwall’s up-and-coming writing talent. Do you want your ears tickled? Then this is the place to satisfy the need. Have a good listen and discover what else is out there.

A showcase and sharing event for emerging writers. 18+.  Short stories, poetry, song and spoken word.

Tuesday 30th November features special guest Rebecca Tantony who will be reading from her work and taking a Q&A. Rebecca Tantony is the author of three poetry and short story collections, all published by Burning Eye Books.

In 2016 Rebecca received an MA in Creative Writing and a distinction for her final manuscript. In 2017, she toured an Arts Council funded one-on-one immersive spoken word show, called All The Journeys I Never Took.

Her work has been published in Magma and Mslexia and her projects Seventeen and Singing My Mother’s Song were both funded by the Arts Council, UK.

In 2017 and 2018 Rebecca taught Creative Writing at Bath Spa University and BA and MA students at Wits University, Johannesburg. She has read her work in numerous venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, the Natural History Museum, Southbank Centre and in Romania, Turkey, Sweden, South Africa and America.

Rebecca curates and hosts programmes for leading creative and community events, including Bath Festival, Shambala Festival and Bristol Harbourside Festival.

Venue to be confirmed – hopefully in person but possibly online.
