The Power of Words
Expect the unexpected @Exeter Cathedral
A free creative writing programme for young people aged 13 – 16

Wednesday 27th October 1.30 – 3.30 and Thursday 28th October 10.30 – 3.30

The Power of Words is inspired by the Anglo-Saxon Riddles in the Exeter Book, the oldest book in the English language…probably. Written in the 10th century, the book contains musings on travel, wildlife and rude veg. Join us to use riddles for a fun and fascinating exploration of the power of words.

Matt Harvey, a poet and performer with much experience of wordplay and riddles will be your guide. Matt’s way with words has taken him from Totnes to the Edinburgh Festival and beyond. He is the creator of the superhero Empath Man, and author of Where Earwigs Dare (https://mattharvey.co.uk/)

Riddles are a wonderful way of getting into enjoyable, interesting writing. This is a chance to surprise yourself, muck about a bit, dip into the trick top hat of your imagination.
