The popular Thursday evening party-style opening event is once again at Torre Abbey where the Festival will be taking a wry look at the Poet’s Laureate throughout the ages, from John Skelton to the present day. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Cornish poet Charles Causley and the Festival will be marking the occasion with an event about the life and poetry of the well-loved poet.

So with poets put ‘On the Spot’ and the popular open mic lunchtime sessions giving everyone a chance to strut their stuff, there is much variety in this year’s programme.

With the exception of the Thursday evening and Monday morning events, all others will take place in the Livermead Cliff Hotel, Torquay.
