The Virtual Writers’ Weekend is a place where writers working in any genre, at any level, find information, inspiration and interaction with other writers and industry professionals. Attend talks with Q&A, keynotes with bestselling authors Diana Gabaldon (author of the Outlander series) and children’s author/illustrator Chris Riddell, meet one-to-one with literary agents to pitch your manuscript or for feedback from author mentors. Every year, writers receive offers of representation at the Writers’ Weekend. This year, it could be you!
This year, our speakers include Robert Fabbri, Lissa Evans, Tracey Corderoy, MG Leonard, Derek Miller, Kiran Millwood Hargrave, Helen Fields and Ness Wood, to name a few, as well as top literary agents who will give talks on the craft of writing and how to get published. And, as a wonderful way to close the programme, we’ll have a panel discussion given by international bestselling author Kate Mosse, novelist Abi Dare and literary agent Lucy Morris.
Discuss topics that interest you in Group Chats, join a Writers’ Circle online writing group for peer feedback (groups start on 16 May and end on 5 July), attend readings by authors that have found success through the event, or read your own work in an Open Mic. We’re also running six writing competitions, including a FREE competition for young writers aged 4 – 16.
There are packages for every budget and we also offer scholarships and bursaries to help struggling writers to attend. We want to reach as many writers of diverse backgrounds and different experiences as possible, so talk to us to find out how we can help you.
