Join Isabel Galleymore and Luke Thompson for a poetry workshop at the Screech Owl Sanctuary on Goss Moor. A symbol for wisdom and for death, owls have been the inspiration for many poets including George Macbeth and Sylvia Plath. We’ll be investigating past literary approaches to owls and finding new strategies with which to thoughtfully represent them. Alongside familiar native owls such as the Tawny, we’ll imaginatively explore the voices, bodies and environments of species from across the world currently held at the sanctuary, including Urals, Frogmouths and Milky Owls.
