Writers have to learn to come and go freely across the border between the focused, intentional mind and the open, receptive dreaming mind of the ‘writer’s trance’. A lot of writers struggle with this, and can go through painful periods of feeling blocked or cut off from their creative source.
In this unique residential writing workshop, we’ll explore the mental attitudes and practical techniques creative dreamers use to develop competence and confidence in their nighttime dreams, and discover how these can work just as well for writers in their ‘dreaming awake.’
The weekend will begin with an introductory session including preparation for dream recalling on the Friday evening, and the morning workshops will open with brief dream sharing and discussion, leading into the writing sessions.
The workshop is suitable for everyone from complete beginners to published authors, as well as anyone who wants to learn more about their dreams. No previous experience of either writing or dream recalling is necessary.
