Writing Longer Fiction: Plotting and PacingEvent Website
Writing a novel can be a bewilderingly big undertaking and a few chapters in, you can easily start to lose your way. But if you wander, you will lose your readers too.
In this one-day fiction master class, we’ll be looking at how to create strong plots and sub plots, and avoid the dreaded ‘saggy middle’, so that you can drive the story forward with confidence and keep your readers turning the pages.
This is the first in an occasional series of one-day workshops for writers of longer fiction. Other workshops will include: ‘Voices: Dialogue and Narrative Angle’, ‘Conflict and Character’, ‘Settings and Scenes’ and ‘Metaphor, Patterns and Themes.’
