Puppets & Poems

This workshop will be led by Cariad Astles and will explore the relationship between poetry and puppetry. How can a puppet speak a poem? How can poetry be expressed through puppets? Both are stylised and symbolic forms which use imagery and metaphor to highlight the world we live in. Participants will construct simple puppets and explore ways in which these two forms can become a powerful force to express ideas about walls, borders and the idea of limits and the limitless. All ages/abilities welcome. Participants will be invited to develop work in the morning, rehearse after lunch and then take part in a short performance as part of our community event on the Sterts main stage finishing at 5.30 pm .

Please bring a packed lunch or food will be available at Sterts cafe.
