The annual Creative Future Writers’ Awards is open for entries in 2022 from underrepresented writers.

The UK’s only national competition for ALL underrepresented writers is now open and features over £10,000 in cash and writer development prizes.

The award is open to all writers whose stories are underrepresented in mainstream publishing including those with mental health issues, physical/learning disabilities, neurodiversity, Black writers, LGBTQIA+ writers, as well as writers from working class backgrounds.

2021 Platinum Poetry winner Shazia Altaf says “This is a phenomenal award for underrepresented writers on the margins, and it’s free! A lot of them have barriers where you have to pay. It’s really important to take advantage of opportunities like this.”

Writers can submit via the website, email or by post.

The theme of the award this year is ‘How It Started’. Writers may submit poetry (up to 50 lines) and short fiction (up to 2,000 words).
