Submissions for our 2020 anthology and microfiction competition are open from 1st December 2019.

Submissions are open for this year’s National Flash Fiction Day anthology! The theme this year is FAMILY and the team is looking for stories from 1 to 500 words.

They invite any and all interpretations of FAMILY, and look forward to reading about families big and small, real and imagined, lost and found, local and global, inherited and created. Families involving people. Taxonomic families. Parametric families. Families on the periodic table. Wherever the word FAMILY takes you, they’d like to follow!

The story does not need to include the word ‘family’ but must touch on the theme in some way. Creative, unusual and unconventional interpretations of the theme are welcome and encouraged.

Deadline: 15th February 2020, midnight.

Further essential information, including full submission guidelines are available on the National Flash Fiction Day website.
