The Poetry Cares project is currently seeking expressions of interest to take part in a free half-day poet training session on the afternoon of Friday 7th May at Salisbury Arts Centre
We are looking for expressions of interest from practicing poets who are resident in Wiltshire or within an easy commute to the area. The selected candidates will be invited to attend this free half day training session for poets interested in delivering poetry workshops at Memory Cafés and other community dementia support settings. This is part of our Poetry Cares project, which celebrates the power of poetry and the positive impact of creative engagement for those affected by memory loss.
The training will be delivered jointly by the poet Karen Hayes, who has successfully run several training sessions for Poetry Cares and the Alzheimer’s Society. It takes place at Salisbury Art Centre. The training is offered free of charge and, although attendance does not guarantee subsequent work, it is in preparation for an upcoming programme of workshops at Memory Cafés in Wiltshire.
