Prosecco and cake await writers at the Grand Opening of The Write Place from 11 am - 1 pm, on Sunday 30th September. This unique creative space under the eaves of Black Swan Arts in Frome is dedicated to supporting local writers to come out of isolation and write together ~ whether they are poets, novelists, playwrights, or students working on essays or dissertations.

Why? Because something magic happens when writers work in the same room. Everyone produces many more words than when working alone. It’s impossible to procrastinate because there are no fridges to defrost or sock drawers to tidy ~ in fact, writers have no choice but to sit down and write!

Run by writers for writers, The Write Place is not-for-profit so that every wordsmith can afford time to focus on their work without distractions ~ even if only for an hour or two. There’s a Quiet Zone for writing, editing and thinking; and a new Chat Room to socialise, share work and ideas ~ or simply relax with a book.

Members pay only £25 a month to write any time they like between 8.30am and 5pm, six days a week. Visitors are always welcome when desks are available for £5 for up to four hours. And, once a month, writers who are too busy to write on other days, can make up for it at TheWriteDay, an all-day writing retreat.

Writers are invited to see The Write Place for themselves and meet other writers over a drink at the Grand Opening on 30th. Entrance is free but numbers are limited, so prior booking on Eventbrite is essential.
