Words by the Water takes place 3 – 12 March at Theatre by the Lake – a modern, state-of-the-art theatre which is in Keswick, Cumbria on the banks of Derwentwater. For those of you familiar with our other festivals this one is very different. To start with the time of year; March in the Lake District can be sunny and warm or rainy, windy and blustery. There may be thick snow everywhere or just on the mountain tops. Hence we promise nothing but a cosy, warm atmosphere in the theatre and a lively programme of events.

As at Dartington there are 2 Main Venues: a Main House holding ~ 400 people and a studio theatre for ~ 100 ticket holders.

The programme of events has just been announced at an event at Theatre by the Lake and can now be viewed here.

• Tickets are on sale now for Friends of Ways With Words and Theatre by the Lake: Phone 017687 74411.
• General booking starts on 9 January 2017 which is when you can also
book tickets online.

There are lots of events to enjoy. Harriet Harman, Tariq Ali, Melvyn Bragg, his daughter, Marie-Elsa Bragg, Vince Cable, George Monbiot, David Owen, Chris Tarrant – and about 100 more. As usual it is an eclectic programme covering many topics.
