In December Literary Fusion is presenting a new event featuring North Devon’s largest gathering of authors, in one venue, on one day and it’s free.
The reason behind creating an event of this size is to promote the amazing talent that North Devon authors have to offer and showcase their work, be it self or traditionally published. The event is designed to make authors and their writing accessible to everyone, no tickets, no fees, no restrictions. They just want to spread the joy of reading and writing, with Devon Libraries represented and ready to sign up new members. The event has been generously sponsored by Complete Computing SW Ltd and hosted by Braddicks Leisure.
In the run up to the event Literary Fusion will be running three competitions, with prizes including a Kindle and book vouchers. There will be two age brackets for children and an adult entry. For more details visit Literary Fusion – North Devon Authors Facebook page.
The showcase offers the chance to meet 20 authors from across North Devon at a welcoming and friendly event. If you have a question about writing or publication ask one of the authors, they are happy to chat and answer questions. And if you buy a book, that’s a bonus – and you’ll discover a great new voice and get a signed copy. There will be panels of authors answering questions, hosted by James Mortain, to entertain the crowd and provide an insight in what it’s like to be an author.
Not only is the event great for readers, who will be delighted with the variety of literature on offer, it’s for authors too. With so many different styles and backgrounds it’s a great networking opportunity. Literary Fusion’s chosen charity is Medical Action for Children (charity number 208701). A raffle and bake sale will be held on the day to raise money.
Why Literary Fusion? We’re not just authors – you will discover poets, researchers, folklorists, historians, playwrights, bloggers, artists, performers and public speakers. Every genre is represented in this collection of award winning writers. From gripping historical dramas to modern day detectives, horror tales to children’s stories, fantasy worlds and outer space or indulgent chick-lit, we’ve got something for everyone.
Come along, you’ll meet new people and make new contacts, it’ll be fun – Sunday 16th December 2018. 5pm – 8pm. The Pier House, Westward Ho! EX39 1JU, see you there.
