About the Author

Mac is a professional member of the National Association of Writers in Education (NAWE) who founded The Poetry Point in 2008 – a website portal to poetry and spoken word events and information in Cornwall and the SW. Since then along with artist and academic Dr. Annie Lovejoy he’s hosted the summertime Caravanserai Fireside Sessions of spoken word and music which take place on the Roseland Peninsula.
Mac also works as a radio producer, recently developing scripts collaboratively in the community, and with Hall for Cornwall. His carefully crafted radio shows have aired on Cornwall’s The Source Fm, and London’s Resonance FM. These include “MacD’s Unspoken Words” and “My Day Off” as well as one-off simulcast transmissions like the community writing and performance project “The Wedding Party”.
Other commissioned works include the digital platform “Pieces of 8” – an interactive series of geo-positioned recordings of scripts, monologues, and poems. Mac has worked as a writer in residence at places like The Exchange Gallery in Penzance and the National Trust’s Trelissick House.
Mac is also the Pluto Press Award winning cartoonist MacD.
His latest collection of cartoons and writing, “The Enigma Variations” is available online through the satirical website Politoons.
