The Charles Causley Trust have today introduced the first Writer-in-Residence at the poet’s home Cyprus Well of 2017. Andrew Fentham was chosen after a call in the final months of 2016 for a new writer-in-residence at the house. Andrew’s residency is particularly special to the Trust as it was designed specifically for young writers with ties to Cornwall, either having been born there or studying or residing in the county. During his stay at Cyprus Well, which will allow him time to focus on his work, Andrew will be mentored by Mac Dunlop who will be on hand to support and help to develop his writing.
Andrew has lived and worked in Cornwall since 2015. He has published poems and translations in a number of prolific magazines and anthologies including Poetry Review, Manchester Review and The Black Herald. He has been awarded a number of bursaries and prizes for his work and his debut poetry pamphlet will publish this year.
We look forward to hearing more about the work that Andrew produces as part of this residency and wish him warmest congratulations.
