Melbourne UNESCO City of Literature – Virtual Writer in Residence Programme
Melbourne UNESCO City of Literature have now opened applications for their Virtual Writers in Residence programme. (Please note that this particular opportunity is only open to those who are a current resident of a City of Literature, so please do bear that in mind if you are thinking of applying.)
From poets to playwrights, this is an opportunity to get to know Melbourne’s vibrant and varied literary community up close by spending November working with one of the many organisations that make us a City of Literature.
Melbourne UNESCO City of Literature will be placing writers from Cities of Literature in 10 organisations across Melbourne and Victoria. Each writer in residence will be connected with their selected organisation and will require you to produce agreed upon content for the organisation.
This content will be any three of the following (or three of just one of the following):
- a workshop
- a written piece
- an appearance/ panel
- a social media takeover
The residency will also include opportunities for meetings with all the writers in residence, introductions to all organisations and facilitated further connections with Melbourne as a City of Literature.
As one of our virtual writers in residence, you will be paid AUD$2000 and retain all copyright for your work.
Deadline: Midnight GMT on Sunday 28th August.
