I've been writing for most of my life and even had a couple of things published. But never felt able to call myself a writer. It's only now in retirement that I feel able to apply myself fully, giving my writing the time and emotional energy it needs. At the moment I've got a few things on the go – short stories, a novel, a children's novel – exploring the style and voice that feels true for me.
