Sarah Barr is a poet and fiction writer living in Dorset. She has won a number of awards including 1st in the Frogmore Poetry 2015, 2nd in the Momaya Short Story 2015; Bridport Prize shortlisted and published in anthologies 2010 and 2016; 2nd in the Poetry on the Lake 2018 Open Prize. Her writing has been widely published in anthologies and literary and commercial magazines, recently in the Cinnamon Short Fiction Review 2018, the Templar Anthology 2016, Meniscus vols 3.1 and 5.1; Caterpillar 15 & 17 (children’s poems); Poems in the Waiting Room winter 2017; featured on The Poetry Society website; Emma Press anthology (later in 2018). She trained and worked as a counsellor and is now a coach/mentor for writers. She teaches creative writing for The Open University and freelance. She founded and leads two dynamic Dorset writing groups, and leads workshops at literary festivals and for writing groups, museums, bookshops and arts centres. She leads The Poetry Society Stanza group in Wimborne. Member of NAWE, Society of Authors, The Poetry Society.
