Beth Calverley is a poet, creative coach and founder of The Poetry Machine. Her poetry is bright and compelling, drawing her audience into an everyday world of extraordinary people.
Through The Poetry Machine, Beth co-creates poems with community members on her manual typewriter, helping them to express their thoughts and feelings. She collaborates with charities, companies, hospitals, universities, schools and festivals nationally.
Beth is Poet in Residence at UHBW NHS Foundation Trust, based at South Bristol Community Hospital. She is a Bristol Life Awards Arts Finalist 2020. Her poems were included in the NHS anthology These Are The Hands and her full collection was launched with Verve Poetry Press in November 2020.
Beth is one of the hosts of Milk Poetry, a nurturing platform for spoken word in Bristol.
