Amanda Craig is the author of seven novels, two of them set in Devon, which include A Private Place, A Vicious Circle, Hearts And Minds and The Lie of the Land. Her eighth, The Golden Rule, will be published in 2020 and is set in Cornwall. Often compared to Dickens, Trollope, Angela Carter and Kate Atkinson her interconnected novels feature recurring characters, satire, social comment, romance and crime.
She has been described in the Telegraph as having “everything you look for in a major writer: wit, indignation, an ear for the telling phrase and an unflagging attention to all the individual choices by which we define ourselves – where we stand as a society and how we decline and fall.”
She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
