After a 30 year career in consultancy and technical writing, including traditional publishing contracts for a number of textbooks, plus serving as editor of a technical journal for five years, I ‘gave up the day job’ to become a full-time creative writer and independent publisher. I have published four novels; three collections of short stories (two co-authored, one solo); and a series of manuals on business skills for writers. I have won or been placed in several short story competitions and am published in a handful of anthologies. My debut novel, Gorgito’s Ice Rink, was runner up in the Self-Published Book of the Year awards in 2015. I have been editor of my town’s community magazine since 2009. I am a founder member of Chudleigh Writers’ Circle and Treasurer of Exeter Writers. I ran Chudleigh Literary Festival for nine years; and since January 2020, I have been Director of Exeter Literary Festival.
