Dr Charlie Mansfield is the programme leader for the Masters in Travel Writing at the University of Plymouth. Charlie has taught in Plymouth since 2009 in the department of tourism management. His interests are in digital heritage management, new forms of travel writing and innovative delivery methods of travel texts to visitors. He worked and wrote on a major research project on the Loire Valley and in Place Branding in the city of Nantes. Together with his postgraduate students and doctoral researchers, he runs the #Waytales series of travel writing and tour-guiding workshops on the English Riviera.
