Michelle originally trained as a nurse, and went onto study Fine Art & Contemporary Critical Theory at Goldsmiths in the 1990’s, where she first took up creative writing. She is an emerging writer and in 2020 was awarded the inaugural Laura Kinsella Fellowship which is overseen by the National Centre for Writing. She has had short stories published in anthologies produced by Creative Futures and Carers UK. And in 2021 she was placed in the commendations list for the Goldsmith’s Life Writing Prize. She loves her work as companion/carer to an elderly retired artist with mild dementia and is looking forward to teaching on a Beginner’s Writing Course, working in conjunction with Creative Futures and Literature Works.
