I am a writer-performer of short stories living near Bath.
I am delighted to have been published in a few anthologies (including Dorset Fiction Award, Stroud Short Stories and To Hull and Back), although I tend to write with performance in mind. I’ve built a reputation for emotionally engaging stories and performances, using deft-humour to draw in an audience before hitting them with something poignant and sensitive. I have had audiences misty-eyed, laughing hard and, best of all, asking me ‘was that true?’
I have performed at Lit and Fringe Festivals, spoken word events and open mics across the South West. Locations have been many and varied – from cafes and bars to chapels and changing rooms. There are props too – a bracelet, kazoo, illuminated heart, a bottle of cider or a triangle.
I am always looking for new opportunities to perform, especially to new audiences – be they inner-city or village hall. If you’re running an event and think I might be a good fit, please get in touch via e-mail and we can take it from there.
A proud member of Stokes Croft Writers and occasional host of our story telling night ‘Talking Tales’ in Bristol.
