Penelope Shuttle has lived in Cornwall since 1970 and is the widow of poet Peter Redgrove. She began publishing her poems back in the Sixties, and has now published twelve full collections of poetry (from OUP, Carcanet, and (currently) Bloodaxe. Her work has been shortlisted for the T S Eliot Award, and for The Forward Prize. She has received a Cholmondley Award. Her most recent publication is Will You Walk A Little Faster? (Bloodaxe Books, 2017), which was Poetry Book of the Month in the Observer in July 2017.
Her next publication is a collaboration with Alyson Hallett, a book of poems about The Lizard Peninsula, titled, Lzrd, due from Indigo Dreams Press, October 2018. She is President of The Falmouth Poetry Group, and a Festival Committee Member of The Cornwall Contemporary Poetry Festival. She is a Trustee of the Board of The Charles Causley Society.
