I have been writing regularly for the past 20 years. I started out writing scripts but fell in love with writing fiction. I am currently working on a collection of short stories called ‘The View from the Gasworks.’ a series of tales inspired by events from my childhood.
I teach CW for the Open University and taught at BSU on their undergraduate course. I was also a course leader on the AQA A-Level in CW. In 2018 I was lucky enough to be long-listed on Penguin Books ‘Write Now’ mentoring scheme.
In 1998, I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a form of arthritis. Living with AS changed my life. Without it I would not have gone to college and university and would not have had the opportunity to write.I read a lot. I write regularly. I cook. I build when I’m able – my previous job was as a carpenter.
I have read my work at the Bath Literature Festival as well as events in Bath and Brighton.
In 2018 I organised a spoken-word event ‘The Squat Pen Rests Short Story Writing Champion of the World.’ I’m a sucker for understated, short titles. I live in hope (and Swindon).
