About the Author

I have a particular interest in literature and its connections accross campaigning and social justice movements in health and social care arenas.

My extensive body of book reviews, articles, poetry and short fiction can be found in diverse places, for instance ‘The Recusant’ e-journal (; ‘International Times’; ‘Poetrybay’ (USA); ‘Nthposition’, also book reviews via Todd Swift’s ‘Eyewear’ blog-zine (; plus many more.

I am a former Chair, and Trustee, of the national mental health and literature development charity Survivors’ Poetry, for which I have been guest editor of its ISSN registered ‘Poetry Express’ e-zine, and continue as a voluntary commissioning editor. I have also mentored, and published mentee poetry collections with the charity.

A third poetry collection, ‘Familial’, was published by Waterloo Press, with kind assistance from south west of England-based The Gane Trust, summer 2016. Currently it’s a Kindle e-book whilst awaiting funding for print-run.

Being mainly based in Axminster, Devon, I also regularly work in SE London.
