The Children’s Society has launched an exciting new creative writing competition in partnership with Viking, an imprint of Penguin Random House. Submit a story for your chance to win expert advice and feedback from a top literary agent.

It’s part of the charity’s Seriously Awkward campaign for vulnerable 16 and 17 year olds. To enter, submit a fictional story about this awkward age of up to 2,000 words by 31 August 2018 at 5pm.

There are two categories, one for 16 to 25 year olds and another for anyone aged 26 and over. A panel of writing experts will join a young person from the charity to choose the best stories.

This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring writers to have their work read and rewarded by experts. To get started, register for competition tips and updates today at the Children’s Society website.
