Do you favour fiction?
Are you creative with comics?
Is writing romance your thing?
Starting in sci-fi?

Then get inspired to write at the Bournemouth Writing Festival! A three-day extravaganza of talks, walks, seminars, panels, performances and workshops for writers wanting to write.
We’ve curated a smorgasbord of professional writers and industry experts, including authors, screenwriters, journalists, editors, poets and comic book writers to help you on every part of your writing journey.

Bournemouth is famous for inspiring a whole host of well-known literary authors – from Mary Shelley to Robert Louis Stevenson, Mary Wollstonecraft to JRR Tolkien. And Dorset continues to inspire hundreds of writers and authors every day. Utilising the past and present talent and creativity evident in the local literary scene, the Bournemouth Writing Festival brings authors and writers together to learn, grow and progress your writing.

With a mix of walks, talks, workshops, panels and networking events dotted across independent venues in the BCP area, published and professional authors will be on-hand to help and nurture writers at all stages of their writing journey to spark your imagination.

From novice novellers needing help to get going to those deciding whether to self-publish or pursue the traditional agent route, a wealth of advice and discussion will be available in an unmissable weekend of inspiration.

So ditch your writer’s block and come to the Bournemouth Writing Festival to spark your imagination.

The event will run on the following days, with venues TBC across Boscombe, Bournemouth town centre and Westbourne:
