A day for you to commit to your writing. Expect prompts, inspiration, opportunities for discussion and excellent company.

Here at WriteClub we know that there’s a kind of magic that comes about when people sit and write together. This micro retreat in Bristol is designed to support you in getting your words out.

Ideal for those with work in progress and also for people who want to get new words down on the page. Whether you’re writing poems, short fiction, novels, memoirs or blogs, this session will get you focused and support you in setting your words free.

You can look forward to:
thought-provoking prompts to get your writing mo-jo fired up
creative-flow stretches to keep you on track
breathing exercises to help you maintain your focus
dedicated time to write
chance to share your work (or snippets of it!) if you’d like to.

About your host:

Alison Powell is an experienced workshop facilitator and NLP master practitioner. She holds an MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa and is a Hay Festival Writer at Work.

Her fiction has been commended in various competitions and awards including The Bath Flash Fiction Award, the Reflex Fiction Prize, The Short Story Creative Non-fiction Flash Award, the Mslexia Prize for First Novels and the prestigious Bridport Prize.

She co-edited the 2018 National Flash Fiction Day Anthology and her fiction has been published in several magazines, including Project Calm, Mslexia and Reader’s Digest. She has run hundreds of creative writing workshops and courses over the years and loves bringing people together to access their authentic creative expression.
