Dedicate the Day: A one-day online creative writing retreat designed to help you commit to your writing.
Saturday 16th May 10am-4pm
If you want support with your writing project, would love some feedback on your work, plus a good dose of inspiring writing activities to free up your creativity, then this is the workshop for you.
During this one-day retreat, led by experienced writer and coach, Alison Powell, and working with a team of like-minded writers, you can expect to:
* develop your creative writing (flash fiction, short stories, novels, hybrids and experiments all welcome)
* find time to write (and be surprised by how much you can write given time!)
* find a way through writer’s block
* stay committed to your writing (for a full day at least!)
* feel part of a dedicated and supportive writing community
* receive good quality, constructive feedback on your writing.
You can reap the benefits of:
* dedicating a full day to your creativity
* a supportive workshop team
* reading and learning from other people’s work.
You’ll be expected to submit up to 2000 words in advance of the session and to read and offer feedback for other people on the day.
What others have said:
Write Club is everything it sets out to be and more. Excellent structure, supportive course leader, and a great pace. I found myself seriously writing not writing seriously. It’s soul deep and stretches you so you can laugh out loud. (Sara)
Write Club is a brilliant idea, expertly executed by Al. The ‘Work in Progress’ sessions gave me the motivation I needed to plough on. Care had gone in to pair me with the right group of people to provide constructive criticism about my work. (Nick)
I found WriteClub to be an exciting and engaging venture. Alison has great energy and brings a lightness to the process of writing which I appreciated. She is also very skilled in bringing people together and making them feel comfortable as a group. Most importantly, however, the intensive course got me writing and left me with an outline for a piece by the end of the four weeks. (LS)
NB We will use Zoom for this retreat, but you won’t necessarily need to be online all day – there will be times to go off and write on your own!
