STORIES! ON A SHIP!!

Brand new stories to surprise and delight: we’ll spin you a tale as refreshing as sea spray, as enthralling as a sailor’s yarn. This entertaining collection of sea-themed stories, poems and monologues have been written specially for the Lightship Festival and will be read by local writer-performers.

Stories of mermaids and sea creatures, of wild seas and wild swimmers. We’ve got stories set on ferries crossing the English Channel and stories set on smaller, more perilous boats. To cap it all we’ve got John Cabot himself before he sets off from Bristol on his great sea voyage. Our stories are compelling and moving, funny and beautiful, and definitely not to be missed.

Stories by wonderful writers Elaine Miles, Dylan Spicer, Brian Weaving, Elizabeth Carter, India Rodgers, and David Matthews, supported by performers Alexandra Ricou, Steve Harding and Michael Stevens. Curated by Clare Reddaway, with Sarah Curwen directing the actors!
Part of the Cabot Cruising Club’s Lightship Arts Festival – a glorious collection of fun activities starting soon!
