THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 9TH 8PM

Join Poetic Licence for an evening of poetry, at The Lamb Inn at Sandford, hosted by Bard of Exeter, Tim King. Chrissy will be reading from her pamphlet, Frank, published by the Poetry Business Smith Doorstop press in May 2021. Ysella will be reading from her pamphlet, you are here, published by Sandrock Press in July 2021.

Chrissy Banks was born in the Isle of Man but now lives and writes in Exeter. She previously worked as a psychodynamic counsellor. Her second collection, The Uninvited, came out in 2019 from Indigo Dreams.

Fiona Benson says, ‘It is always a thrill to read Chrissy Banks’ poems. Frank is immediate, straight talking, humane and hard won. I love these poems for their acute attention to both toughness and tenderness – to withholding and to noisy, snotty grief. And I am enthralled by their many reckonings and recognitions which conjure in me an enormous yes of recognition.

Ysella Sims is a poet, writer and sound artist. She has just published her first pamphlet, you are here, poems about people and place, identity and belonging, with Sandrock Press. She lives in a falling down house outside Exeter.
